App to Facilitate Sharing Health Data Wins Federal Support

The Lush Group’s HealthyMePHR system has been selected as a Phase I winner of The Department of Health and Human Service’s Move Health Data Forward Challenge.

The HHS challenge supports efforts to enable consumers to share their personal health information safely and securely with their health care providers, family members or other caregivers.

HealthyMePHR will allow patients to import their health information directly from their primary care provider’s electronic health record (EHR) system, define how it is shared with others, and authorize electronic access. Additional planned features will accelerate clinical data sharing on a patient-by-patient basis.

“In most industries, consumers can access and control their own information,” said Nancy Lush, Lush Group President. “Patients, quite rightly, expect the same from the medical community.”

“Concerns about security, privacy and data interoperability have long kept this dream of patient-centered information management at bay, but we believe we are finally at an inflection point. By utilizing the new HL7 FHIR standard, UMA and related HEART specified technologies, HealthyMePHR  will be at the forefront of a new class of solutions dedicated to improving patient engagement and well-being.”

The Lush Group is a Jamestown, Rhode Island based software development and services firm with extensive experience in healthcare.
